Star Fall Devlog


Progress is being made from last week (for a start, I now have an itchio dev log!).


  • There is a proper user interface (and the game can now be quit!)
  • Enemies and players now show visible signs of being damaged and explode when they are destroyed.
  • The HUD has been redesigned to be more attractive and the 'score' has been replaced with a new 'rank up' system which allows players to choose upgrades on each rank up.
  • Enemies now come in timed waves, each with increasing difficulty.
  • I've introduced a 'kill zone' which acts as the level boundary, entering the Kill zone will give the player a 3 second countdown in which to get back into the engagement area, however during the countdown, their speed is doubled adding a strategic benefit to taking the risk.
  • The design is still pretty ugly and no where near where I want it to be but I will work on the look-and-feel once I've got the core logic nailed down.

Bear in mind as well that the enemies and waves are set up to make testing the game easier for me, the final gameplay will be a lot more balanced.
